My Story

My shop is constantly building; adding tools, machines, stock materials, and anything else to help grow. It will never be complete but I work towards that daily to put out the finest work I can.

My name is Ryan and I am from northeast Ohio. I am a father of 2 with a love for outdoors, vintage things, old school craft, and a mostly traditional style of life. Blacksmithing and knife making is a hobby of mine, which allows me the time to hand make my pieces and get them to level I strive for. I have always had a heavy interest in art, and making things with my hands . I started out with basic art- drawing, sculpting, and painting. I moved onto custom cars, then to building things with metal and wood. I have had my career as a commercial pipefitter/plumber and now project superintendent since the early 2000’s and that allowed me to learn new techniques and processes such as welding, soldering, brazing, cutting, etc. and being comfortable with everything involved in building and tradeswork. I have always wanted to build things I enjoy though, not things I had to for a paycheck. I opened up shop in 2022 out of my garage with just a hammer, anvil, and forge. I started blacksmithing making mostly art pieces, which eventually opened up to knife making, and any other opportunity I see. I registered my business with the state a year later to start taking orders and putting my work out into the world. My shop has grown abundantly with the tools and equipment I now own or have made throughout the years, that allows me to continue to grow in hopes of some day having a more laid back, self sustaining source of extra income. I have completed multiple bladesmithing classes over the past couple years, I have taken a few online courses from a couple top knifemakers in the USA, which are great referencing materials to continue to learn from, and I have done a couple in person courses of actual forging with other highly regarded smiths. I believe over the years of many knives and many failures I have developed a style that is unique to me. One that I enjoy and one that keeps the elegant, handcrafted, but yet performing look and action that I have worked towards. I keep an open mind with orders as everyone has a vision in their heads, and work to turn the vision into an actual product. I also do my best to continue to build art or cutlery in my spare time in hopes of catching someone’s eye and finding a new home or user.
